President

Mathematician and maybe madman, Matthew is keen on serving Mu Alpha Theta to the best of his ability. He is particularly fond of applied mathematics, which he believes will be a core part of his academic journey in college. He does lament, however, that he is failing to do basic arithmetic after working with calculus a bit too much and secretly hopes that someone can tutor him in that regard. Beyond math, Matthew really enjoys sending GIFs of ducks. After all, who can resist a request for help when it comes with a panicking psyduck?

Vice President

Sophia enjoys the final understanding after struggles and hard work and the realization that a certain concept has strong real-life applications. Apart from math, she loves watching TV shows like Brooklyn 99, Supernatural and Criminal Minds. She also likes making friendship bracelets and this world. This Sophia can’t drink coffee!

I’m Grace, serving as the secretary of MAT 25-26. Math has always been my passion, and hopefully yours too! I didn’t know MAT existed until my sophomore year

Hi there, I’m Rudy. I’m a current sophomore and joined MAT in 2024 and have been an active member involved in tutoring and making posters. I like math, volleyball, and food a lot. I like cheese even though I’m slightly lactose.

James is a core member of the Mu Alpha Theta honor society, and he enjoys solving intricate math problems with peers, progressing together toward the answer. He loves helping others become confident in math and has been an active tutor for various courses. Apart from math, James often explores the world of literature, finding truth in narratives that illuminate the complexities of the human experience. I am a dog person.

It’s Angel here! I am a freshman, and this is my first year at MAT. People also call me angle for my deep-rooted passion for math (definitely not because everyone spells my name wrong…) all the way from 1st grade to now. Apart from math, I also enjoy rhythm games, vocaloid music, playing with my cat, and tons of other more random activities. :D In 7th grade, I memorized 250+ digits of π and was able to recite them all correctly. I could still recall around 150 digits now.

Hi, I’m Avelyn, and this is my first year in MAT. My hobbies are getting cooked on MUAs and then overriding it through my EUAs in math, as well as basketball. I like f1, and it’s still mathematically possible for Verstappen to win 2025 WDC.

I am Jio from class of 2029. I love math, running, and listening to music. I can run 7 km in 35 minutes, the same amount of time it takes to complete an ASMA math contest. This means that for each problem one finishes, I would have run 1 km in that same time. :)

I finished all the Calculus IXL skills in the summer break of 24. (i forgot how to do most of them :sadge: as they say if you don't use it then you'll lose it)
